
Foundational Doctrines
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift from God, that cannot be earned through any form of good works. It can only be obtained through faith in Jesus Christ.
Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
The Trinity
We believe that there is one true God, which manifests itself in three separate persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three of these persons, while separate from each other, are equally divine and equally holy.
1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
Deity of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He is an equal member of the Godhead, fully divine, eternal, and holy.
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
King James Bible
We believe that the King James Bible is God’s preserved Word. We believe that it is without error and perfect in every way, shape and form.
Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Psalm 12:6-7
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. [7] Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.
1 Peter 1:25
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Baptism After Salvation
We believe that baptism is an act of obedience which a believer is supposed to partake in after salvation, and not for it. Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Acts 8:36-37
And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?[37] And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
The Local Church
We believe that God has ordained the local church to be his institution from which his Word is proclaimed - a self-governing assembly of saved believers.
1 Timothy 3:14-15
These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: [15] But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
